Philippe Kern is the founder and managing director of KEA European Affairs, a strategic consultancy based in Brussels specialised in providing advice, support and research in relation to creative industries and sport since 1999. An important voice for Europe's cultural and creative industries, he is a recognised leader in the world of entertainment, culture, sport and digital technology. He is a specialist in copyright, anti-trust and trade law. Kern is former Director of Public and Legal Affairs of PolyGram. He is the founder and former secretary general of the European Film Companies Alliance (EFCA) as well as of the Independent Music Companies Association (IMPALA). He is executive producer of the movie celebrating the 60th anniversary of the UN Declaration of Human Rights and is currently working on the establishment of European prize for young contemporary photography. Kern graduated in law at the universities of Strasbourg and Paris as well as the College of Europe in Brugge. He speaks French, English, German and increasingly Spanish.
